The Minister of Education, Karla Trigueros, reported last night that the school packages will be delivered throughout February to students in the more than 5,000 public educational centers in the country.
During a tour carried out last night in the warehouses of the San Bartolo Land Customs, the head of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (Mineducyt) verified the work being carried out in the logistics of transferring school packages to different areas of the territory.
«Throughout the month of February, at the beginning of the school year, we will continue to deliver school packages to each of the schools, to each of the 5,000 schools. We will continue to deliver them throughout the beginning of this school year,” said Trigueros.
An entire fleet of trucks from the Government of El Salvador began the work of distributing school packages since last February 1, at the beginning of the school year of the public educational system.
Since then, the work has been carried out day and night to travel the country with the purpose of delivering complete school packages on time to all students in public educational institutions.
«There are many people working, from many institutions, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Education, the personnel of prisoners through the Zero Leisure Plan, Firefighters, National Police. “We are all working together to deliver these school packages,” said the Minister of Education.
He also assured the Salvadoran population that the trucks that distribute the school packages will reach the more than 5,000 public schools in the country and that no student in the public sector will be left without receiving this benefit.
«There are more than 5,000 schools where we are going to take these school packages. There are 1.2 million packages, there are 16 types of school packages that we have, from Kindergarten 4 to High School and we include flexible modalities,” he explained.
The 16 types of school packages contain materials depending on the school year. All packages, except for those with flexible modalities, contain two uniforms and shoes, in addition to all the supplies that students will need to complete their school year, including notebooks, pencils, colors, rulers, scissors, books and more.
Additionally, each package contains an electronic device.
“In kindergarten 4 we have an 8-inch tablet within the school package, in 1st grade a 10-inch tablet, in 4th grade and the 1st year of high school we have computers,” said Trigueros.
He stated that in total 1.2 million school packages will be delivered to the 1.2 million students in public schools. The minister assured that these packages are already complete and are currently being packed and then taken to all schools.
