The Vice President of the Republic, Félix Ulloa, participated in the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Trinational Commission of the Trifinio Plan (CTPT) 2025, held in Guatemala City, a space for dialogue and political coordination that reaffirms the commitment of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to the development of the communities of the Trifinio Region.
During the meeting, the technical and financial advances were presented, as well as the main achievements of the 2022-2025 period, ratifying the joint commitment of the three countries to continue working in a coordinated manner for the well-being and comprehensive progress of the population of this territory.
Within the framework of this ordinary session, the member states agreed on the designation of El Salvador to assume the Trinational Executive Secretariat (SET) of the Trifinio Plan for a period of four years, in accordance with the principles of rotation, co-responsibility and regional integration that characterize this trinational mechanism, as an organization of the Central American Integration System (SICA).

For this new period, El Salvador will exercise the Trinational Executive Secretariat through Jorge Urbina DENPT, who assumes leadership with the commitment to provide continuity to the strategic processes promoted by the CTPT, strengthen trinational cooperation and consolidate the progress achieved for the benefit of the Trifinio Region.
The designation of El Salvador to assume the SET represents an institutional opportunity, aimed at deepening cooperation between El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, promoting shared governance and continuing to promote joint initiatives that contribute to comprehensive development, territorial resilience and improving the quality of life of the communities.
The event included the participation of the Vice President of the Republic of Guatemala, Karin Herrera; the presidential appointee of the Republic of Honduras, Doris Gutiérrez, who participated virtually; the Executive Director of the General Secretariat of SICA, Ingrid Figueroa; as well as the outgoing Trinational Executive Secretary, Liseth Hernández.
