Guatemala Interoceanic Corridor launches tokenization in El Salvador

44 young university students conclude their professional and human development process alongside PBS volunteer mentors.

With enthusiasm and pride, PBS El Salvador, in alliance with the Gloria Kriete Foundation, celebrated the closing of the third edition of the program, an initiative that promotes the professional and personal growth of young university students from the Oportunidades Program, through the direct accompaniment of PBS volunteer collaborators.

For three months, 44 mentors and 44 mentees shared learning, experiences and goals, consolidating a space for exchange that has
contributed to strengthening employability, leadership and confidence skills in young people. Since its creation, the program has benefited more than 100 students, of which 34 are already working, 21 in permanent positions and 13 in paid internships, in sectors such as technology, industry, retail, media, finance and social organizations, including opportunities within the PBS team itself.

“Mentoring is an act of professional generosity, but also of deep social commitment. We are proud to see how this alliance has transformed lives, inspiring both the mentees and our collaborators. Each story of improvement confirms that accompanying and believing in young people is a powerful way to build a country,” said Mirian Alas, General Manager of PBS El Salvador.

For her part, Violeta Artiga, Deputy Director of the Oportunidades Program of the Gloria Kriete Foundation, highlighted the impact that the program has on strengthening youth employability: “In each edition we reaffirm that the alliance with PBS opens real doors for the young people of the FGK Oportunidades Program. This close support allows them to discover their potential, prepare for the world of work and dream big. Seeing them take these steps fills us with hope and “It motivates us to continue multiplying opportunities.”

The closing event brought together mentors, mentees and representatives of both organizations in a meeting full of emotions, testimonies and projection of results. Participants shared their experiences and learnings, reflecting the value of collaboration between the private sector and civil society in building a more equitable future for Salvadoran youth.

The initiative is part of PBS’s commitment to sustainability and education as a driver of development. Through the program, young people receive mentoring in areas such as technology, engineering, accounting, sales, marketing and leadership, while the Gloria Kriete Foundation’s Oportunidades Program provides them with comprehensive training in employability, emotional support and vocational exploration.

With this third edition, PBS reaffirms its purpose of generating value beyond business, promoting real opportunities for those who will be the protagonists of the future of El Salvador.
