Guatemala Interoceanic Corridor launches tokenization in El Salvador

Within the framework of National Coffee Day, the Vice President Félix Ulloain his capacity as a member of the Trinational Commission of the Trifinio Plan, presided over the opening of the Café de El Salvador Cafeteria as a result of the cooperation agreement between Plan Trifinio and the Salvadoran Coffee Institute.

This establishment was inaugurated in the facilities of the Plan Trifinio Hotel, Restaurant, School in La Palma, Chalatenango, where 100% national coffee from the Apaneca-Ilamatepec, Bálsamo-Quezaltepec, Chichontepec, Tecapa-Chinameca, Alotepec-Metapán and Cacahuatique regions will be offered. This synergy will strengthen the coffee value chain through innovation, local training and the application of sustainable models.

Vice President Ulloa pointed out that, in the past, agriculture was relegated by previous governments, losing its strategic value for the nation. In contrast, he stressed that today El Salvador moves forward with a new vision, recovering the prominence of this sector as an economic engine, symbol of identity and source of national pride.

He highlighted that the Trifinio El Salvador region covers nearly 1,200 km² and produces around 5% of the world’s coffee, which demonstrates its extraordinary potential. Likewise, he highlighted the importance of protecting the environment and promoting sustainable practices such as those promoted by Plan Trifinio El Salvador, where through SISTAGRO, organic fertilizer is produced and thousands of seedlings are delivered that reforest the forests, promote food security and boost the economy in the communities.

The President of the ISC reiterated that, he organizes this activity under the vision of the President, Nayib Bukeleplacing emphasis on the inter-institutional component that stimulates the growth of Salvadoran coffee growing, tourism and local economies. It should be noted that this Institute equipped and remodeled the cafeteria, to provide a special experience to visitors, and also trained local staff in barista topics and methods.

In addition, the Head of the National Executive Directorate of the Trifinio El Salvador Plan, Jorge Urbina, stated that this space will remain open from Wednesday to Sunday, offering the population the opportunity to enjoy good coffee, a varied international cuisine and, of course, the authentic flavors of El Salvador, while strengthening tourism capabilities and revitalizing the regional economy.

With actions like these, the Government of El Salvador consolidates the boost to sales of specialty coffees and reinforces the comprehensive strategy of the Hotel, Restaurant and School of the Trifinio Plan. The activity was also attended by the Ambassador of Italy, Paolo Emanuele Rozo Sordini; the Ambassador of Spain, Sonia Álvarez; the Executive Director of ESIAP, Claudia de Larín and coffee growers in the area.
