Guadalupe Taddei denies accusations by Xóchitl Gálvez of leaking election information

The former presidential candidate, Xóchitl Gálvez, accused Guadalupe Taddei during an interview with Reforma of having leaked the results of the Quick Count to the National Chamber of the Radio and Television Industry on June 2.

Gálvez considered the way in which the quick count and PREP process progressed and the way in which the possible results and estimates were announced in different media to be confusing.

The president of the National Electoral Institute responded by denying such a leak.

During an interview with Manuel Feregrino, Taddei asked for caution with statements and understanding the counts. According to Taddei, at 7 p.m. the media were authorized to make possible results and counts public. For its part, the INE would deliver results between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm.

“At 11:50 the INE came out not only to carry out the presidential election, but also the integration of the Congress of the Union. It seems totally meaningless to me to affirm that the INE, or to try to position that the INE did not comply with the exercise and with the established times”.

“Did the INE comply? Yes, did the INE deliver the results on time? Yes, the Presidency, when transmitting this information, was always accompanied by a notary from Mexico City who attests to what things are done according to the procedure, which mark that information cannot be delivered by any other means to any other means than to the country, that is how it was established, that is how it was taken. There is not even a loophole through which to try to position itself. [algo] distinct”.

For Taddei, Gálvez’s statements come from poor information about what really happened. Likewise, he flatly denied that the information had been leaked to the Mexican presidency.
