The “Grand Slam” judo tournament will start today in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
Publika.az reports that 8 Azerbaijani judokas will join the fight on the first day.
4 of them will be women and 4 will be men. Only Azelya Toprak and Ruslan Pashayev will join the competition in their weight class from the 1/32 final. Our other judokas will perform in the 1/16 finals.
1/16 final: Leyla Aliyeva (48 kg) – Katarina Tanzer (Austria)
1/16 final: Gultaj Mammadaliyeva (52 kg) – winner of the pair Leonye Gonzalez (France) / Binta Ndiaye (Switzerland)
1/32 final: Azelya Toprak (57 kg) – Nino Loladze (Georgia)
1/16 final: Fidan Alizade – Irina Zueva (MAIN) / Gvantsa Mtchedlishvili (Georgia) won the pair
1/16 final: Turan Bayramov (60 kg) – winner of Kwang Jin Chae (North Korea) / Andrea Carlino (Italy)
1/16 final: Balabey Agayev (60 kg) – Vijay Kumar Yadav (India)
1/32 final: Ruslan Pashayev (66 kg) – Gigi Otyashvili (Georgia)
1/16 final: Rashad Yelkiyev (66 kg) – Olu Kubanichbek Aybek (Kyrgyzstan)
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team went to the “Grand Slam” tournament, which will last until March 24, with 11 male and 4 female judokas in 9 weight categories.
