Graham Norton was stabbed: – If I die, they will definitely come to say goodbye to me

In an interview with the Telegraph newspaper, the well-known Irish talk show host and comedian Graham Norton talks about what he defines as the worst moment of his life. He was stabbed in 1989.

Norton, 60, tells the newspaper that he lost half his blood in the accident and found it all traumatic.

He asked the nurse if he was going to die

Norton was about 26 years old when the accident took place. According to various media he was attacked by a gang of boys.

The next morning he woke up in the hospital. He says he remembers a nurse asking him if they should contact someone for him. Then he thought the following:

“I don’t want to worry my parents, but if I die, they’ll probably come and say goodbye to me because they’ll be angry if I don’t tell them,” Norton says.

Additionally, he recalls asking the nurse if he was dying, and being greeted with a verbal pause before clarifying that “this is no place for pauses.”
