Government is working to increase the export of tea: trade adviser

Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin said the government is working to increase the export of tea by meeting the internal demand of the country. During this time, he urged the tea industry to work equally not only in the country but also in the international market.

He said this while addressing the chief guest at the fifth National Tea Day at Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Wednesday (May 27th).

“We hear from the workers that the appropriate price is not available from the workers,” the trade adviser said. Sitting here, I found a small calculation if 1 crore 5 lakh kg of tea is produced, the price sold in the market is sold in the market of Tk 3,000 to 4,000 crore in the market. At the same time if we convert to the street value, the triple from the minimum double will be a price. That is, at the consumer level, the cost of eight to ten thousand crore is spent.

“If we can make a balanced distribution of it, we can find a way to protect the national wealth from the wicked cycle of the tea industry,” he said. We need to take integrated steps to exploit the huge potential of the tea industry. There are various tariffs and tax disadvantages in the tea industry, we want to stop it. I would like to bring discipline to this industry. It is as if stability in the price of the market in the market and establish justice.

Sheikh Bashiruddin said that the amount of land for the tea industry needs a suitable use. Its other uses should be renewable fuel or tourist center. However, the main goal is to ensure the prosperity of the tea garden from tea. Tea workers, owners need a joint effort. Sales should be increased to reduce the cost of tea production. In order to increase sales, the tea product needs to be diversified and attractive.

Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman presided over the function. Bangladesh Tea Board Chairman Major General Sheikh Md. Sarwar Hossain. The Greetings were addressed by Shah Mainuddin Hasan, President of Bangladesh Tea Parliament, Kamran T Rahman, President of Bangladeshi Tea Parliament, Jasmine Akhter, National Tea Worker Jasmine Akhter and Acting President of Tea Workers Union.
