Gourmand Cookbook Awards: 3 Czech books about food received awards!

Over the weekend, the Gourmand Cookbook Awards, a prestigious international competition in which cookbooks and books related to food are awarded annually, took place in the Swedish city of Umea. This year, three Czech publications were nominated for the competition and they all placed excellently.

Among the nominated Czech books was a narrative publication The rhythm of the year with Hanka Zemanová. She received awards in two categories, placing first and second in the Eastern Europe and Health and Nutrition categories.

“It is an award not only for me and the entire team of the Smart Press publishing house, but also for wild nature and for its gifts that it offers us every month and with which it heals us.” reviewed Zemanová.

She won second place in the Chefs category Lenten cookbook Pavla Drdel with the subtitle from root to root. Pavel Drdel owns the well-known restaurant Sůl a repa in Strakonice, and you could also see him as a guest in this year’s series of the Masterchef competition.

The last nominated book was Christmas Traditionalist Martina Viktoria Kopecká and Martina Boledovičová, who won fourth place in his category.
