“La Lupita had a very important concert in Ciudad Azteca. I was coming out from taking a bath and the phone rang and my brother’s ex-wife told me: ‘Come over here, your dad.’ So, I fly to my parents’ house and when I arrive I see my mother devastated and my father recently deceased with half an hour left before I go on stage.

“I remember something very strange: a neighbor who was outside told me ‘Tie his head with a bandana so his jaw doesn’t move’, and I said: ‘What?’ I called the people who worked with us at that time and explained to them, and they told me: ‘we canceled the concert.’

“But five minutes pass and they dial me again: ‘We can’t cancel, the place is full.’ And me loving my dad’s jaw and hugging my mom. At that moment I remembered Freddie Mercury and ‘The Show Must Go On’. I remembered that it was my dad who bought me my first guitar, the first one he wanted me to play was him. I told my mom: ‘Wait for me, wait for me, mom.’ And I went to play….”
