Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev warned that the announcement of the official results of the elections on June 9 will be delayed due to the large number of protocols.
“On June 9, when the vote for the National Assembly and the European Parliament will take place, three times more numbers will be processed from the election protocols than in the previous elections, and the number of district election commissions (RDCs) remains the same, which will lead to delays of the official results,” he said.
Dimitar Glavchev explained that he warns the public earlier so that there is no speculation that something is being done in the dark. “Let there be no tension that the results are being delayed because of some other practices,” he explained.
The caretaker prime minister commented that whatever depends on the government will be done, but the number of district election commissions has already been determined.
“We provide logistics and are there until election day, from then on the Central Election Commission (CEC) takes over, and we make sure that there is no buying and selling of votes,” Glavchev reminded.
However, he expressed hope that the CEC will announce the official results within the legal period of 48 hours after the end of the election day. “For now, we are all moving together on schedule and I think that as we all work in sync, the result will be good,” the prime minister added.
