JAKARTA – Former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam), Mahfud MD commemorating the 9th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Hamzah Haz who died, Wednesday (24/7/2024) today. Hamzah Haz breathed his last while undergoing medical treatment at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto Jakarta.

Mahfud assessed that Hamzah Haz was a figure who had given color to the mosaic of the Indonesian nation’s struggle.

“Mr. Hamzah Haz, the 9th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, passed away today, Wednesday (24-7-24). May the deceased find His paradise. He has given color to the mosaic of the struggle of the Indonesian nation,” wrote Mahfud via his personal Twitter (X) social media account.

He gave a message that as humans, we just have to wait for our turn to follow Hamzah Haz who returned to Rahmatullah. Mahfud likened that humans just have to wait for time like waiting for a bus, train, or plane.

“We will all follow, it’s just that our turns will be different, like waiting for our turn at the bus stop or at the train station or waiting for our flight number at the airport. Our departure will be inevitable, because we exist because of and for Allah and to Him we will surely return,” said Mahfud.

“It is our deeds that will determine the size of the supplies and what vehicles will take us to the afterlife. Goodbye, Pak Hamzah Haz. Innaa lillaah wa inna ilaihi raji’un,” he concluded.
