At a time when many successful groups are returning to the Angolan market, Maculusso’s gingas could soon be back.
The musical group As Ginga do Maculusso will return to the stage this year, according to Gersy Pegado, a member of the group, recently reported.
Speaking to Notícia de Angola Gersy revealed that the group could mark its return to the stage this year.

The singer highlighted that 2019 was a good year, a year of a lot of work, where new challenges occurred on a personal and professional level. Without revealing details, Gersy highlighted that she hopes that 2020 will continue to be a lot of work and that the challenges will be accompanied by great success.
“There is a lot happening at the level of the ministry of culture. I can’t reveal anything yet, but soon, you’ll understand and it’s going to be a very good year. I hope that 2020 continues to be a lot of work and that the challenges are all accompanied by great success.”
The group includes Gercy Pegado, Patrícia Faria, Gersy Pegado, Maria João, Josina Stella and Patrícia Faria, the latter who was later replaced by Celma Miguel.
The group began its journey in 1982, on one of the children’s programs on Rádio Nacional de Angola under the command of journalist Amélia Mendes.
With a collection of five albums, (Mbanza Luanda”, “Malanje-Natureza & Ritmos”, “Xiyami”, “Muenhu” and “Luachimo), the group has in its repertoire songs such as “Hino a Kalandula”, “Mestre Geraldo” , “Ndange”, “Daughters of Africa”, “Fuba”, “Kabetula”, among other hits.
