Gilles De Coster lifts the veil on ‘double play’ in ‘The Mole’

“Double”, “Double”. These are the most frequently heard words in the run-up to the new season of ‘De mol’. A lot of theories immediately emerged, but Gilles De Coster now seems to debunk a few of them in a commercial.

“It’s not just the mole who is playing doubles this time,” sounded ominously in the trailer. It immediately set in motion a number of ‘mollots’ – as the fervent sleuths are called – to come up with theories. Would they play in duos? Are there two moles? Are they twins?

Presenter and best friend of the candidates Gilles De Coster seems to have already given a glimpse of the mystery in commercials on Radio 2. In them he debunks a number of theories. Such as those in which it is thought that the game will be played in duos. In another commercial he drops the following: “Please note, this radio commercial will only be broadcast once. The mole is playing doubles this year, but that does not mean that every assignment is played twice.”

Still being debunked: that candidates would have double mole booklets, that ex-candidates would return, that the elimination test would not be twice as long or that it would be twice as difficult for the viewer to unmask the mole. But above all: there are not two moles in the game. That’s a lot of theories that are suddenly debunked. It will become clear on Sunday what those “doubles” and “doubles” mean. (eadp)
