Again, during the early hours of this Sunday, February 18, authorities from the Vice Ministry of Transportation (VMT), the National Civil Police (PNC) and the Solidarity Fund for Health (Fosalud) carried out vehicle controls nationwide, with the objective to prevent road accidents and protect the lives of the population.
It is worth mentioning that these operations are implemented in different strategic areas of the country to guarantee strict control of motorists.
One of the actions carried out by the authorities, during a vehicle check, is to guarantee that drivers have their traffic documents in order.

Among the first people arrested, during the early hours of Sunday, for driving under the influence of alcohol, was Misael Antonio Carabantes Rodríguez, 31 years old. His alcohol test gave 163 milligrams per deciliter of alcohol in exhaled air.

In addition, he explained that “last year, as of this date, 198 were registered, this indicates an increase of 43% in dangerous drivers arrested.”
The VMT also reported that, during the anti-doping operation, “a driver evaded control and tried to flee. Because of his drunken state, he crashed into a fuel dispenser.
For its part, the PNC made the arrest to perform a breathalyzer test, which resulted in 143 mg/dl of alcohol in exhaled air. “No injuries were reported,” authorities said.
