The European Commission’s General Director for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Gert Jan Kopman, has started his visit to Azerbaijan.
Publika.az reports that he had a meeting with Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration.
“I am in Azerbaijan to discuss the cooperation between the European Union and Azerbaijan in the field of COP29, demining and other issues. I had productive meetings with the Assistant to the President Hikmet Hajiyev and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev. It is important to create a positive agenda for green energy, regional relations and peace in the South Caucasus. it is an opportunity,” the official of the European Commission said on the “X” account.
It should be noted that the European official came to Azerbaijan from Georgia. His visit to the South Caucasus began on April 30.
