The German government believes that the quick delivery of aid provided by the European Union is very important for Ukraine. This was reported by the Russian service of Deutsche Welle, citing the representative of Germany in the EU.
“The rapid delivery of military goods without excessive bureaucratic procedures is of decisive importance for that country,” Michael Klaus, the representative of Germany in the European Union, told dpa agency after the regular negotiations held in Brussels on the allocation of new funds for armaments and military equipment for Ukraine.
According to him, the support provided by individual countries works especially efficiently and quickly.
This year, the European Union plans to allocate an additional 5 billion euros to finance the supply of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine. Germany will have to pay approximately a quarter of that amount, i.e. 1.3 billion euros. Along with this, the German government, in turn, has promised Kiev more than 7 billion in military aid in 2024 and seeks to have these payments recognized as Germany’s contribution to supporting Ukraine at the EU level.
