A professional training center for journalists in Madagascar. An ambitious project which should soon see the light of day thanks to the collaboration between the Group of Multimedia Information Press Editors of Madagascar (GEPIMM) and the association Actions Médias Francophones Madagascar or AMFM. The partnership agreement for the establishment of this center was signed on Friday May 3. This step follows “ more than 12 years of collaboration between GEPIMM and the NGO Actions Médias Francophones International (AMF International), the NGO which gave birth to the AMFM association, in the field of journalist training “. More than fifty training sessions have been initiated since 2014 thanks to this cooperation. The Malagasy branch of Actions Médias Francophones is currently made up of trainers from various training sessions. These trainers can deliver training independently. With the establishment of the AMFM which takes over its actions through the CFPJM, AMF International speaks of a “ resounding success of a strategy of delegation of skills ». « Media managers and associated AMFM training journalists can live their lives in complete autonomy, which will not prevent a lasting fraternity with partners sharing these values », underlines Loïc Hervouet, president of AMF International, present at the signing ceremony. This Friday’s signing ceremony was also an opportunity for AMF International, represented by its president Loïc Hervouet, to give the next CFPJM a batch of recording equipment for the production of podcasts, some works on journalism which will constitute the base of a library, as well as two radio studios including a mobile studio to provide training in the provinces.
