The Madrid court ruled in favor of Georgina Rodríguez and her sister Ivana in the case against Telemadrid TV channel.
Publika.az inform that, according to “Revista HOLA”, the TV channel was forced to pay compensation in the amount of 150,000 dollars for violating privacy.
We are talking about the entertainment program that was broadcast in 2018. In that show, Georgina’s childhood was discussed without providing any evidence, details about her family’s life were made public, archival photos were shown, and hints about a “secret past” were voiced.
The court found that this material did not have the nature of a journalistic investigation, it was unjustified interference in private life. It was noted that at that time, Georgina Rodríguez was not yet a world-famous person, and her family did not have a public status. For this reason, it was considered unacceptable to present the subject in this form in the media.
The decision also emphasized that the program aired shortly before the death of Georgina’s father, which further increased the moral damage inflicted on her.
An interesting point is that Georgina Rodriguez found out that she won the court while she was in Dubai during the Globe Soccer Awards 2025 ceremony. At that event, Cristiano Ronaldo was awarded the best football player of the Middle East.
