JAKARTA – The act of genocide in Gaza is suspected of using weapons from the United States. The array of weapons used by Israel is clearly visible, starting from land and air combat units.

Washington’s support for Tel Aviv began to emerge after Israel was reported to have committed genocide at the International Court of Justice. From related evidence, they were armed by the US to bombard Palestinians besieged in Gaza.

TRT World reported, Friday (7/6/2024) that Palestinians have been victims of the ferocity of US weapons since October last year. Some 36,586 Palestinians died – 71% of them women, children and babies. There were around 83,074 people injured with more than 10,000 buried under the rubble of bombed houses.

The US allegedly sent more than 10,000 tons of weapons to Israel in the first 45 days of the war using 244 cargo planes and 20 ships containing more than 15,000 bombs and 50,000 artillery shells.

In addition, a number of weapons and ammunition were transferred from the US to a warehouse in Israel known as War Reserves Stock Allies-Israel. There is no information yet on how many weapons were transferred to Israel. More than 100 sales agreements for military equipment have been made to Israel between October 2023 and March 2024, but only two of them have been disclosed to the public.

The following is a list of weapons used by Israel in the genocide in Gaza:

1. M113 Armored Personnel carrier (APC)

After the US, Israel is the country that uses the M113 APC the most, with more than 6,000 units. However, Israel disguised the name of this weapon in Hebrew with a modified model designed according to geographical conditions.

2. M270 MLRS

The Israeli Army has widely used the M270 Multiple Launch System (MLRS) in previous attacks on Gaza, including in October 2023.

Tel Aviv uses an updated version of the M270 called Menatetz. This weapon was designed in 1982 and was first used in the Gulf War in 1991. This cannon can fire Israeli-made rockets such as Ra’am Eithan, RAMAM, Romach/ AccuLAR, LORA, as well as US-made GMLRS rockets.

3. M109 howitzer

The M109 is a type of self-propelled howitzer that can fire artillery shells with a diameter of 155 millimeters. Israel has 250 US-origin M109A5 models and 30 M109A2 models.

Israel fired tens of thousands of 155 millimeter shells produced by US General Dynamics from M109s in Gaza. Some of the M825 and M825A1 bullets contain white phosphorus. Even though these bullets are prohibited from being used in civilian-populated areas and could potentially constitute a war crime.

4. Warship

Most of the ships in the Israeli Navy are German-made. The only US naval platform is the Sa’ar 5 class corvette. Israel has used the Sa’ar 5 corvette in its attacks on Gaza since October 2023. There are three corvettes produced by Northrop Grumman Ship Systems (NGSS). Despite operating with a crew of 71 and being relatively small, the ship carries weapons and auxiliary systems similar to a frigate.

The ship has sonar, two triple torpedoes, two quadruple missile launchers, an electronic warfare system, a close protection weapons system, two automatic cannons, a helipad and a helicopter hangar. The Sa’ar 5 includes US-made Harpoon anti-ship missiles, Israeli-made Barak type air-to-surface missiles, a 20-millimeter Phalanx CIWS close-in protection machine gun, a Typhoon Weapon Station, 324-millimeter torpedoes and a helicopter.

In addition to the 30-millimeter cannon, the helicopter can carry AIM-92 Stinger air-to-air missiles, 70-millimeter Hydra 70 missiles, US-made AGM-114 Hellfire, AGM-65 Maverick and Israeli-made Spike missiles. In addition, the AGR-20 (APKWS) can also fire ser-style guided 70 millimeter rockets.

6. Helikopter Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk dan SH-60 Seahawk

There are 50 Sikorsky UH-60s in the Israeli Air Force called Yanshuf. This twin-engine helicopter is used in transport missions with a crew of four including two pilots, has a length of 19.76 meters and a height of 5.13 meters.

The helicopter can carry 7.62-millimeter M240 and M134 machine guns or 12.7-millimeter GAU-19 gatling guns, can be equipped with special equipment to add 70-millimeter unguided Hydra 70, AGM-114 Hellfire guided missiles, and AIM- 92 Stinger anti-aircraft missiles. Additionally, Israel ordered eight units of the naval version of the SH-60 Seahawk.
