The Investigation Police Agency of Chi Linh City, Hai Duong has prosecuted and issued an arrest warrant for Nguyen Trung Vuong, General Director of the Netherlands Dairy Products Joint Stock Company.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Vuong was prosecuted for the crime of “Production and trading of counterfeit food products”.
Previously, at the end of 2022, the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention under the Ministry of Public Security initiated a criminal case of “Production and trading of counterfeit food products” occurring at the Netherlands Milk Joint Stock Company, located at 335 Tran Cung, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi, along with the company’s branches and warehouses.
During the investigation, the authorities collected 67 product samples from 33 types of products of the Dutch Milk Joint Stock Company. The appraisal results showed that 66/67 product batches had quality indicators below 70%, with a total quantity of goods of 29,400 cans/boxes and an invoice value of more than 4.1 billion VND.
Authorities inspected and seized a number of dairy products at the warehouse of the Netherlands Dairy Joint Stock Company in Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province.
The investigation agency determined that after building the Holland Milk Factory (at Km39 National Highway 18, Cong Hoa Ward, Chi Linh City, Hai Duong), Nguyen Trung Vuong directly directed employees in the production and circulation of products, from purchasing raw materials, building production processes, receiving orders to selecting products and quantities, unit prices, and delivery times.
Then, issue a production order, weigh raw materials and additives according to the available formula in the production order, mix, put into the canning machine, close the lid, label, print the expiry date until the inspection stage, pack the carton, bring to the finished product warehouse and then transport to the place of consumption. The production management is mainly done remotely via computer network, Zalo in groups between the General Director and employees.
Some fake and poor quality milk products were seized by authorities.
In addition, the investigation agency discovered that Do Minh Thu, Chief Accountant of the Dutch Milk Joint Stock Company, arbitrarily edited two test results and forged documents of the Commune People’s Committee to legalize the products. The investigation agency separated the defendant Thu’s actions into another criminal case and the prosecution agency prosecuted and tried him for the crimes of “Forgery of seals and documents of agencies and organizations” and “Using fake seals or documents of agencies and organizations”.
On April 16, 2024, Chi Linh City People’s Court sentenced Do Minh Thu to 62 months in prison.
