A six-year-old Palestinian girl who was the only survivor of an attack in the Palestinian city of Gaza and sought help from the authorities has been found dead.
She died with a couple of members of the medical staff trying to save her.
This girl named Hind Rajab was trying to leave the city with her family, aunt, uncle and three cousins leaving behind the Israeli technicians in their car.
But the tanks shelled the car, killing Hind’s relatives.
The little girl survived the initial attack and called emergency operators in an attempt to get help. According to a BBC report, gunshots could be heard before Hind’s call was abruptly cut off.
On Saturday, paramedics from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society managed to reach the area where Indian relatives were killed. Earlier this area was closed due to being a war zone.
Here they found a black car with broken windows and bullet holes in its doors. This was the vehicle in which Hind and his family tried to leave the city.
A paramedic said Hind’s remains were found among the bodies of his family members. She appears to have been killed by firing and shelling.
Kali Kia was not the only vehicle found wrecked on the road. Paramedics also found the remains of an ambulance a few meters away. The Red Crescent said an ambulance was dispatched in response to Hind’s call for help, but it did not return.
The PRCS has accused Israel of deliberately destroying the ambulance and killing the paramedics.
A statement released by the organization said: ‘Occupying Israel deliberately targeted Red Crescent staff despite prior reports of allowing an ambulance to reach the spot to rescue Hind.’

The group told the BBC that it first contacted the Israeli army to get permission for an ambulance to arrive at the scene to rescue Hind. These agreements were allegedly not honored.
PRCS spokesman Nibal Farsakh told the BBC that their paramedics could see the area where Hind was trapped, but there was constant gunfire that made a rescue impossible.
Hind’s mother is also demanding Israel’s accountability.
She told the BBC that ‘everyone who heard the pleas of me and my daughter, yet did not save her, I will question them in front of God on the Day of Judgment.
“Nathanyahoo, Biden and all those who cooperated against us, against Gaza and its people, I pray from the bottom of my heart.”
Israel has not released an official statement about the death of Hind, his family or the paramedics.
The Independent has approached for comment.
In the past, Israel has accused the Palestinians of using ambulances and hospitals as bases to transport weapons and fighters.
This gives the Israeli army justification for attacks that are generally considered war crimes under the rules of the International Criminal Court.
