In 2023, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) drilled about 74,000 meters.
Publika.az According to SOCAR, this is 1.2% more than the indicators of 2022.
7.7 million tons of oil and 8.4 billion cubic meters of gas were produced in the fields operated by the company independently or as the main shareholder. “Compared to the corresponding period of 2022, oil production has remained relatively stable, and gas production has registered a 4% increase,” the information says.
SOCAR reports that the growth trend in gas production across the country continued and increased by 3.3% compared to the corresponding indicator of 2022 and amounted to 48.3 billion cubic meters. In general, more than 30.1 million tons of crude oil were produced in Azerbaijan during the year.
During the reporting period, SOCAR exported 17.8 million tons of oil to foreign markets.
“This includes the oil volumes produced by the company with its own capabilities, and the profit shares belonging to the state of Azerbaijan and SOCAR of the oil produced by the international consortia operating in our country”, – it is noted in the information.
Natural gas export across the country increased by 6.9% to 23.9 billion cubic meters. During the reporting period, the consumption of natural gas in the country was 13.4 billion cubic meters.
In 2023, SOCAR processed 6.3 million tons of oil and 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas. More than 2.2 million tons of oil, petrochemical and gas-chemical products produced at SOCAR’s facilities in Azerbaijan were exported to foreign markets.
