Tyrol (OTS) The renowned clay court tournament, which attracts over 50,000 spectators every year, is celebrating its 80th birthday this year. A very special gift has been thought up for all visitors. In cooperation with the VVT, tennis fans who have managed to get hold of one of the coveted tickets for Kitzbühel can use local public transport in Tyrol for free from July 20 to 27 to get there and back. The aim is to take on a pioneering role in the tennis world and show that top-class sport and sustainability go together perfectly.

“Thanks to our partnership, the tennis experience for fans begins right on their doorstep – without any travel traffic, traffic jams or looking for a parking space. We are very proud of this new partnership with the Tyrol Transport Association. With free travel to and from the tournament, we not only want to offer our guests added value, but also set an example for environmentally friendly travel,” says the Managing Director of the Generali Open, Florian Zinnagl.

VVT Managing Director is delighted about the ticket cooperation with Austria’s largest outdoor tennis tournament Alexander Jug: “There will be two winners in this tournament this year – one of them, that much is already certain, is the environment. CO2 emissions and noise pollution decrease with every car that stays at home. The region and its residents also benefit from sustainable travel with our public transport.”
