Leaders of the G7 countries, consisting of Italy, Japan, USA, England, Canada, France and Germany, gathered at the Borgo Egnazia Hotel in the Itria Valley in the Puglia region of southern Italy. Leaders will discuss Ukraine and the Middle East today.
The G7 Leaders Summit, hosted by Italy and held between 13-15 June, started. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Japanese Prime Minister Fumiyo Kishida and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak met at the Borgo Egnazia Hotel in the Itria Valley. Also present at the meeting are European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel.
According to the G7 program, leaders will exchange ideas today in the sessions on Africa, Climate Change and Development, the Middle East and Ukraine. It was reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski would come to the hotel where the meeting was held at 14:00 local time.
It is anticipated that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend the high-level summit session with world leaders in Italy tomorrow.
