Since 2021, the Le Pouce Academy football school has established itself as a breeding ground for young Malagasy football talents. After three years of preparation, the training began to compete in competitions.
Le Pouce Academy is starting to make a name for itself in the Capital’s football tournaments. After three years dedicated to training and friendly matches, the school took the step towards official competition. And the results are already there, with trophies to be won. Just last month, the U11s and U13s lifted the Gen Foot tournament cups, while the U15s reached the semi-finals of the Orange Cup. “Our goal is not only to win competitions, but above all to introduce children and help them progress in this discipline. We start from zero to bring them to performance. That’s why we waited three years before participating in tournaments, and today the results speak for themselves. We are already in the bath », Underlines the founding president, Iandry Mario Rakotomaniraka.
From fitness to football
Originally, Le Pouce was a fitness and bodybuilding club. But the structure gradually shifted towards football, while keeping its facilities in Ampasanimalo: a field and a room, accessible to licensees and parents. Today, Le Pouce Academy has around a hundred students divided into five mixed categories including U7, U9, U11, U13 and U15. They are supervised by five qualified and experienced technicians. “However, we must limit memberships in order to guarantee quality training and so that they are well served. This is our priority,” adds the founding president, himself an enthusiast and former player. Fueled by its first successes, Le Pouce Academy does not intend to stop there. Several projects are already in preparation for 2026, with a clear ambition to contribute to building a bright future for Malagasy football.
