PUEBLA, Pue. (apro).– The mayors of Zapotitlán de Méndez, Emiliano Vázquez Bonilla, and that of Acteopan, Álvaro Tapia Castillo, requested leave from their position after being accused of the crimes of murder and feminicide, respectively.
Javier Aquino Limón, Secretary of the Interior of Puebla, reported that, this Tuesday, the councils of both municipalities met to approve the license requests of both councilors who are currently fugitives.
He said that in both municipalities it is contemplated that the substitutes will take charge of the administration of the municipalities until the end of the current municipal period, which will be on October 14, so that the mayors who were elected in the elections of this June 2 can enter. .
The mayor of Zapotitlán is accused of having participated in the execution of the bodyguard of the PT candidate to succeed him, Salvador Tino Martínez, who was the winner in the votes.
While the mayor of Acteopan, Álvaro Tapia Castillo, is accused of having committed femicide against his wife, María Elianet Sandoval, whom he hit, ran over with his truck and dragged her for several meters, in the middle of an argument.
Mayor of Zapotitlán is still active on social networks
While the State Attorney General’s Office reported that an arrest warrant has already been issued against him, the mayor of Zapotitlán is still active on his social networks, residents reported.
In what is considered a mockery by the locals, Vázquez Bonilla issues messages on his Facebook account in which he thanks congratulations on his birthday and assures that “soon” he will clear his name with videos in which it will be clear “who attacked who is it”.
It should be remembered that on June 15, Proceso published videos in which the mayor and other men, one of them carrying a machine gun, are seen holding Ramón Malagón on the banks of the river; then, when that person is left lying in the river with a bloody chest and later, when those men carry him out carrying all four limbs.
The Attorney General’s Office of Puebla reported last week that investigations indicate that Malagón died from a gunshot wound, which is why it issued an arrest warrant against the mayor, his brother Higinio and 28 other people.
