La Pan Tan is a remote commune located on Khau Pha peak, considered one of the four great passes of the Northwest.

With an altitude of about 2,000 m above sea level, and 2,200 hectares of terraced fields, La Pan Tan attracts many tourists.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 6:00 a.m. today, December 22, the Northern region was plunged into severe, harmful cold, with some places dropping to minus degrees Celsius.

In the center of Mu Cang Chai district, where the altitude is lower than La Pan Tan pass, the lowest temperature this morning is about 9 degrees Celsius. For every 100 m elevation, the temperature will decrease by 0.6 degrees Celsius.
