French Navy cruiser docked at Da Nang port

The French Navy’s cruiser Vendemiaire has just arrived at Tien Sa Port (Da Nang), starting a 5-day friendship visit to the city.

On the morning of April 11, the French Navy cruiser Vendemiaire, including 98 officers and sailors led by Lieutenant Colonel Sebastien Drouelle, the ship’s commander, docked at Tien Sa Port, starting a visit to Da Nang.

Participating in welcoming the ship included leaders of the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, Military Region 5 Command, Navy Region 3 Command, Coast Guard Region 2 Command…

While in Da Nang, the ship commander and sailors will pay a courtesy visit to the leaders of Da Nang City People’s Committee, Military Region 5 Command, and Naval Region 3 Command.

In addition, the crew will participate in a number of activities such as fire prevention and fighting, ensuring safety at sea, preparing for training at sea on anti-pollution, search and rescue, visiting ships and competing in volleyball with Vietnam Navy and Coast Guard.

The French Navy delegation will visit scenic spots and historical sites in Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam.

The Vendemiaire is a Florreal-class frigate, 93m long, carrying a Dauphin-type helicopter. In addition to maritime protection and exclusive economic zone control, ships also often carry out missions to help people and carry out cooperation programs.
