JAKARTA Olympic 33rd Year 2024 officially opened. PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) invites the entire community to support Indonesian athletes to achieve the best achievements.

“Freeport Indonesia also supports the Indonesian Team competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics. We hope this will be the spirit of the athletes to compete, present their best for the country and inspire the younger generation,” said PTFI Deputy President Director Jenpino Ngabdi while attending the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics in Paris, France, Friday (26/7/2024).

Reportedly, the opening of the 2024 Paris Olympics was watched live by 316,000 spectators. Meanwhile, an estimated 1.5 million people watched on television. In the opening ceremony, 160 boats crossed the Seine River, 94 of which carried athletes.

A total of 14 Indonesian athletes and officials greeted the audience by bringing the spirit of Indonesian Painter Raden Saleh in the opening of the Olympics. Judo athlete, Maryam March Maharani was honored to carry the Red and White flag in the Indonesian contingent’s parade.

Chef de Mission of the Indonesian Contingent Anindya Novyan Bakrie, who also took part in the parade at the 2024 Paris Olympics, hopes for the success of Indonesian athletes.

“God willing, the opening ceremony that has gone smoothly, will also be the beginning of the smoothness and success of the 29 Indonesian athletes who will compete. So, the Red and White Flag can fly, and the Indonesian National Anthem can be sung,” he said.

The 2024 Paris Olympics will feature 32 sports and will be participated by 182 countries. The Indonesian contingent will send 29 athletes consisting of 16 male athletes and 13 female athletes, accompanied by 20 coaches, 9 officials, and 28 head quarter members, with a total contingent of 86 people.

“Thank you also to Freeport Indonesia, which has also helped us as CdM in this Olympics,” added Anin.

The Indonesian contingent sent to the 33rd Olympics consisted of 12 sports, namely Badminton, Weightlifting, Rock Climbing, Archery, Shooting, Athletics, Swimming, Surfing, Gymnastics, Cycling, Rowing, and Judo.
