Free fellowship training opportunity for BSMMU doctors in Japan – 2024-06-09 05:57:46

Doctors of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) will get free fellowship training in Japan from this year. BSMMU and Japan Bangladesh Medical Association (JBMA) have signed a memorandum of understanding in this regard. All expenses of the fellowship will be borne by JBM.

The MoU was signed at a ceremony organized at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Saturday (June 8) at 11:30 am.

Minister of Health Dr. was present as the chief guest in the event. Samant Lal Sen. Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yuyama Kiminori was the special guest. Dr. chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the University. Dean Md. Nurul Haque

It was informed at the event that every year an expert (assistant professor level) from the clinical department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University will get an opportunity for three to six months advanced fellowship training from a medical university in Japan. JBMA will bear all the expenses of this training organized by private initiative.

By the way, since 2013 Dr. Under the initiative of Samant Lal Sen, every year burn and plastic surgeons in Bangladesh are being arranged for higher fellowship training at Japanese Medical University. As the MoU was signed with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, burn and plastic surgeons as well as specialists in other clinical subjects will also get higher fellowship opportunities.
