Government once again rejects liberal applications in the EU main committee

Vienna (OTS) – “Once again, Nehammer and Co. have shown unprecedented ignorance of the interests of the Austrians in today’s EU Main Committee. Instead of finally making the European economy competitive and thereby securing prosperity, the undesirable developments of the last few years are being followed in a completely unreasonable manner: climate hysteria, Corona madness, debt union and warmongering have brought about record inflation and thrown Europe far behind in global competition. Given the performance of the EU institutions, there can be no question of any leadership role on the world stage. It is completely absurd that, shortly before the election, the EU comes up with the idea that European competitiveness needs to be strengthened and wants to introduce a ‘European deal for competitiveness’ with the aim of ‘removing obstacles’ when the biggest obstacle to the economy represent the EU Commission itself, including governments such as those in Austria or Germany. “It would have been all the more important to approve our liberal proposal for a technology-neutral economic and industrial policy, but the Black-Green Party, in line with the EU, continues to drive directly over our interests and the European economy against the wall,” criticized the FPÖ European spokeswoman and EU representative.
