Vienna (OTS) – It is almost bizarre what the Greens under Health Minister Rauch and Climate Minister Gewessler are saying and selling to citizens under the guise of “climate protection”. “The latest ‘stunt’ of the Green duo is the ‘climate-fit health system’, which was presented yesterday in the usual showmanship,” said today the Freedom Party’s health spokesman and chairman of the parliamentary health committee, NAbg. Mag. Gerhard Kaniak.
The plans presented yesterday for renovations of buildings, optimization of the food system and energy supply or waste management have long been state of the art and have been the order of the day everywhere. “What we need today more urgently than ever is a health system that is fit for patients and not a climate-fit one. Our patient care is in a bad state, both in the outpatient sector, in hospitals and in nursing – that should be a concern for the Green minister, not left-wing ideological babble about old wine in new bottles,” demanded Kaniak.
Kaniak further stated: “Whether the health system is responsible for seven percent or 20 percent of CO2 emissions in Austria will be of no concern to those in need of care, those with chronic illnesses, cancer patients or those who have had an accident, as long as they are well cared for and their health is restored. The green left-wing fantasies must now come to an end; Austria and its citizens need a comprehensive health reform in the interests of patients!”
