Court documents show that between July 2023 and January 2024, Orville Martirez Beltrano, 30, allegedly stole approximately 866 Apple products, worth $1.3 million, from a warehouse UPS on King Edward Street. This is where he worked from 2013 as a local sorting supervisor until January, when he was fired by UPS.

Beltrano sold stolen Apple products on the Kijiji classifieds website, accepting payment in cash or bank transfer. From September 2023 to January 2024, he deposited more than $232,000 in cash into his bank account.

On January 22, Beltrano was arrested by Winnipeg police. On January 23, police executed a search warrant on the suspect’s home and vehicle south of Winnipeg, finding $9,000 in cash in the vehicle, a Mac laptop and jewelry worth more than $9,100.

During an interview with police, Beltrano admitted to stealing Apple products from the warehouse as well as jewelry. He also admitted that the money found in the vehicle came from selling stolen products.

Beltrano used the ill-gotten money to buy a house in Winnipeg’s South Pointe neighborhood in January 2024 for $630,000 and paid off a 2021 white Audi hatchback for $60,000.

The court is asking the judge for approval for officials to confiscate Beltrano’s house, Audi, $9,000 in cash and bank accounts.
