Former skier Zuzulova on Vlhová’s injury: Most importantly, don’t rush her return!

Zuzulova recently revealed that together with her husband Gasp, they are expecting the arrival of a new family member. However, the former skier also went through a dark period in her life, especially in 2013, when she seriously injured her knee in Switzerland. However, because of her desire to compete in the Olympic Games in Sochi a year later, she rushed the treatment and was injured again in a few weeks.

So when the native of Bratislava heard about the injury of the Slovak Olympic champion, she was able to empathize with her immediately. “I’m really sorry that Peta got injured and is missing from the ski carousel. However, it must be said that injuries of this type are common in this sport and most skiers will go through it during their career. It happened to me too,” said Zuzulova for Novy Čas.

The more experienced skier then also told Vlhová to be careful about her injury. “It is important that she does not rush her return to the slopes. Now, on her part, it will mainly be about patience and a well-adjusted psyche. You have to go step by step. A lot of athletes returned to the scene too soon and then had even more serious injuries.” Zazulová advised the injured skier.

However, Petra Vlhová is not the only successful skier who is currently struggling with a serious injury. Even the American Mikaela Shiffrin won’t be getting on her skis for a long time. “At least other girls can show up now. Even though Petra and Mikaela are injured, women’s skiing is still something to watch.” said Zuzulova, who will have a baby boy in September.
