Former Hai Phong City Police Director Do Huu Ca has just filed an appeal after receiving a 10-year prison sentence for “Fraudulent appropriation of property”.
On April 28, the People’s Court of Quang Ninh province said that former Hai Phong Police Director Do Huu Ca had filed an appeal against the first instance verdict to request a reduced sentence.
In addition, defendant Truong Xuan Duoc and his wife Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh and former Head of the Tax Department of Cat Hai District, Hai Phong City, Nguyen Dinh Duong also filed an appeal against the first instance verdict.
Previously on April 12, the People’s Court of Quang Ninh province sentenced the defendants involved in the case of buying and selling invoices, giving and receiving bribes, and fraudulent appropriation of property.
Former Hai Phong City Police Director Do Huu Ca was sentenced to 10 years in prison for fraud and property appropriation.
As the mastermind, defendant Truong Xuan Duoc received a 9-year prison sentence for buying and selling invoices and state budget payment documents and giving bribes.
Assisting defendant Duoc, defendant Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh received 4 years and 6 months in prison for buying and selling invoices and documents and giving bribes.
Former Director of the Tax Department of Cat Hai District, Hai Phong City, Nguyen Dinh Duong received 6 years and 6 months in prison for accepting bribes.
