Form 47: Three interesting facts about three major parties

The results of 264 of the 266 general seats of the National Assembly have been declared. NA eight Bajaur polls have been postponed while NA 88 Khushab two results have been withheld.

According to the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFN), the percentage of votes cast in the recent elections was 47.6 percent, while the ratio was 52 percent in 2018.

According to the Form 47 released on the Election Commission’s website, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed members, who contested the elections as independents, won the highest number of National Assembly seats (93) so far. .

Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) emerged as the second largest party, with 75 seats and Pakistan Peoples Party’s 54.

MQM Pakistan 17, Azad nine, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan four, Pakistan Muslim League three, Stabilization Pakistan Party and Balochistan National Party two each.

Apart from this, Muslim League Zia-ul-Haq, Majlis Wahdat al-Muslimeen, Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party, Balochistan Awami Party, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, and National Party could win one seat each.

Of the 264 constituencies that have received results so far, according to Form 47, which is available on the Election Commission’s website, there are 38 National Assembly constituencies where PTI-backed independent candidates have won the total number of votes cast. received more than 50 percent of the votes.

Out of these 20 constituencies are in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while 18 are in Punjab.

Eight constituencies where PML-N lost due to Tehreek Labeek

In the 2018 elections, Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan participated for the first time and emerged as the fifth largest party in Pakistan with 2.2 million votes.

In the same elections, PTI lost 17 seats in the National Assembly due to Tehreek Labeek, while Pakistan Muslim League-N lost 14 seats.

In the recent elections, the PML-N had to lose eight seats in the National Assembly due to Tehreek-e-Labaik.

This question is different that if there was no TLP, would all these votes have gone to Muslim League-N or not?

The constituencies in which Tehreek-e-Labeek vote led to the defeat of PML-N are NA 67 Hafizabad, NA 79 Gujranwala, NA 81 Gujranwala, NA 111 Nankana Sahib, NA 115 Sheikhupura, NA 116 Sheikhupura. , NA 121 Lahore and NA 133 Kasur are included.

Eight constituencies where PML-N lost because of PPP

In the recent elections, PPP won six National Assembly seats from Punjab while only one seat came from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

JUI could also win two seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the support of People’s Party.

In NA One Chitral, PTI-backed candidate Abdul Taif got 61 thousand 834 votes, while his opponent Muhammad Talha Mahmood of JUI got 42 thousand 987, Iftikharuddin of PML-N got 20 thousand seven and People’s Party’s got 20 thousand. Fazal Rabi got 23 thousand 723 votes.

Similarly, in NA 44 DI Khan, Maulana Fazlur Rahman also lost to Ali Amin Gandapur because his opponent was Faisal Karim Kundi of People’s Party and the total votes of both of them are more than Ali Amin Gandapur.

If the People’s Party and the Muslim League-N had done seat-adjustment in Punjab, there would have been eight constituencies where the Muslim League-N could have won the National Assembly seats with the support of the People’s Party.

Muslim League NNA 16 Abbottabad election also lost because its ticket holder Murtaza Javed Abbasi was defeated by Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, a defected member of PML-N and the way was cleared for PTI-backed candidate.

Other seats, where PML-N suffered defeat in Punjab due to PPP, in NA 84 Sir Godha, NA 86 Sargodha, NA 142 Sahiwal, NA 146 Khanewal, NA 154 Lodhran, NA 169 Vehari , NA 170 Rahim Yar Khan and NA 181 Layyah are included.

In NA-91 Bhakkar too, PML-N candidate lost to PTI because independent candidate Saeed Khan got more than 71,000 votes and from here PTI-supported Sanaullah Mastikhel got 160,300 votes. Won with votes.

In NA-95 Faisalabad, the stability of Pakistan and the division of votes between PML-N benefited PTI-backed candidate Muhammad Saadullah and he was declared successful with a little over 1,000 votes.
