For sale all over the market, Alaskan lobsters are down to nearly 400,000/head

This type of shrimp is relatively popular. Because the size of shrimp is large, you have to spend millions to eat it, which is beyond the spending capacity of many people. However, with small shrimp sizes, you only need nearly 400,000 VND to buy 1 fresh product.

Therefore, in just the past week, Ms. Thuy has consumed nearly 1,000 small-sized lobsters. Among them, there are orders for up to 20-40 birds.

From the beginning of June until now, Mr. Le Anh Tu’s seafood store (in Giai Phong, Hoang Mai, Hanoi) has also continuously offered to sell Alaskan lobsters for 399,000 VND/piece. The volume he imported this time was 0.5 tons.

Mr. Tu said, Alaska lobster season starts from May to October every year. That is, during this period, lobster not only has the best meat quality but also the cheapest price of the year due to abundant supply. However, in the past 2 years, shrimp prices have been quite expensive due to scarcity, even at the end of last year the price soared to 1.7 million VND/kg.

“Entering this season, Alaska lobster prices dropped sharply, to the same price as 3-4 years ago.” He said and cited evidence that shrimp sizes from 1-6kg/head are currently priced at only 950,000 VND/kg; The shrimp line weighing 5-6 ounces/head he sells by the fish for 399,000 VND.

For small size shrimp, if converted to weight, the price is 670,000-800,000 VND/kg. Compared to last year, the price decreased by about 300,000 VND/kg.

“The price is quite cheap, there are no large orders yet, but customers order quite a few at a time,” he shared.

According to Mr. Tu, in recent years, the economy has been difficult, so the amount of imported seafood consumed has decreased quite sharply. On this occasion, Alaskan lobster is relatively cheap, so orders are increasing.
