For calling JEP magistrates ‘guerrillas’, they ask the Prosecutor’s Office to investigate Manosalva

Due to non-compliance in the transfer of bodies in the Aguachica cemetery, the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) certified copies from the Prosecutor’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office to investigate the mayor of the municipality, Robinson Manosalva.

In addition, copies were ordered to be certified to the Prosecutor’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office, so that the mayor of Aguachica could be investigated for libel and slander due to alleged statements by the mayor in videos and audios against the JEP magistrates.

These irregularities committed by the president became known on May 25 in a public hearing when the JEP magistrates ordered the arrest of the mayor for the failures of Robinson Manosalva.

«Mayor I would ask you to take the mayor and inform us within the next three days how the order was executed, in which police station you are going to be arrested, where you are going to comply with the sanction and the conditions of detention that are obviously in accordance to the dignity of the human being, you can withdraw it,” said the magistrate.

They assured that the administrative transfer of the skeleton bodies from the San Martin cemetery to the central Catholic cemetery of Aguachica has not been carried out on the dates on which it was reported that it was going to take place.

In addition, it was not established who would be part of the forensic team in charge of carrying out the aforementioned transfer, but rather it was simply stated that it had said information, while a contractor was provided and nothing more.

After the non-compliance and calls for attention to the mayor, he would have delivered documents justifying his non-compliance. However, the JEP section confirmed that the elements provided by the president were insufficient.

It is worth remembering that, in the San Martín cemetery, several exhumations have been carried out in which there could be more than 400 bodies of alleged victims of forced disappearance, for which the mayor’s office was ordered to transfer these bodies to the central cemetery.
