The Girondins de Bordeaux have completed their recruitment for the current season by formalizing the arrival of Sonny Laiton, Malagasy international goalkeeper. The transfer was finalized this Monday, August 26, on the eve of the deadline for entering federal licenses and contracts, which determines the qualification of players for the matches on Saturday, August 30. Sonny Laiton, free of any contract after the end of his commitment with AJ Auxerre last June, has chosen to sign with the Bordeaux club in National 2 (Group B). Aged 24, the Barea goalkeeper played last season with the AJ Auxerre reserves, accumulating 21 appearances in Ligue 2. He was also loaned to Stade Briochin in National, where he played 16 matches in 2023. In addition to his performances at club level, Sonny Laiton has also been called up by coach Rôrô Rakotondrabe for the first two qualifying matches for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, against Tunisia and the Comoros.
