He noted that salted meat increases the risk of colon cancer. Healthy eating and exercise habits are the strongest defenses against deadly diseases. The oncologist emphasized that the consumption of fish meat reduces the risk of cancer.

“A number of foods contain toxic components. Some of those components enter the body in a harmful form depending on cooking methods. Some of these are residues of agricultural pesticides, chemicals, chemical fertilizers and parasitic pesticides. Residues of these chemicals in food are extremely harmful to human health.

The first victims of pesticides are farmers who are unaware of this danger. At the end of the harvest, the techniques of storing, protecting, processing and cleaning the products are extremely important. Mistakes made at these stages can turn the nutrients necessary for our health into harmful elements,” the oncologist emphasized.

According to him, the body’s water and mineral needs should be met in a balanced way:

“A person’s daily water requirement is 2.5 liters. While we get 1 liter of it from the food we consume, we need to get the remaining 1.5 liters from drinks.

At least 4 portions of fruit should be taken per day, preference should be given to seasonal fruits. Fruits should be included in various foods and meals. “One or two servings of vegetables and at least one serving of cooked vegetables can be consumed per day,” he said.

According to the oncologist, peas and legumes should be consumed more than red meat. Stating that olive oil is consumed more in the Mediterranean countries, the expert emphasized that the consumption of polyphenols reduces the number of deaths due to cancer and cardiovascular diseases: “Onions and garlic should be consumed a lot. Onions and garlic protect us from cancer by neutralizing substances that are strong carcinogens. Raspberries, strawberries and blueberries are rich in largic acid, which is anti-carcinogenic. “Many food sources in nature are necessary for human development.”
