Food Stalls Use Pesugihan, Film Approaching Death Airs April 30 2024

JAKARTA – Recently there have been lots of stories about restaurants or rice stalls that use “penglaris”. This story was made into a film entitled “Menjelang Ajal” which will be shown starting April 30 2024 in cinemas.

It is suspected that the following are the characteristics of food stalls that use penglaris:

1. The food stall looks dirty, but many people want to eat at the stall. Magical creatures like dirty and damp places. Therefore, a dirty and crowded stall could be a sign of a pesugihan stall that uses selling jeans.

2. The stall owner does not allow food to be wrapped or taken home. The taste of food eaten directly at the stall compared to wrapped food will be different. The magical power of the selling genie disappears when crossing a bridge or road intersection around a food stall.

3. Food stalls have toilets that customers cannot open or use. It is forbidden for customers to open the toilet because it is there that the selling genie does his job. Before being served, the food is first put into the toilet where the genie is. Then, the genie performs a ritual on the food that will be served

4. The stall owner mixes the cooking spices himself even though he has many employees. This is done because there are certain rules for preparing dishes. If you mix it wrong, the magical powers on the food will not work.

5. Food stalls are closed on certain days. The shop owner who has the genie penglaris has rules and prohibitions on certain days, according to the rules of the genie penglaris.
