Foiling Ukrainian attempts to target Zaporizhia – Al-Baath Media

The Russian army announced the thwarting of two Ukrainian attack attempts towards Zaporozhye, and the destruction of a number of enemy forces’ vehicles.

“In the Livadny area on the Zaporozhye direction, a powerful attack by enemy forces, up to a company with tank support, was thwarted. During this, two tanks, two armored fighting vehicles and about 70 of the attacking force were destroyed,” TASS quoted Oleg Chekhov, head of the press center of the Russian army’s “East” group, as saying today.

He pointed out that during the attack on the residential center of Pyatikhatki, more than 10 tanks and several armored vehicles were destroyed, as well as a large number of enemy soldiers were eliminated.

Chekhov said that Russian warplanes destroyed combat vehicles and armored personnel carriers, and inflicted fire damage on gathering places of Ukrainian militants in the Livadny and Pyatikhatki regions, and Russian air defense systems shot down several enemy drones.

According to the head of its press center, the forces of the “East” group, with the support of artillery and aviation, inflicted a fiery defeat on the Ukrainian forces and thwarted their attempts to carry out offensive operations in the Uragini region.

He pointed out that during the exchange of artillery shelling, Russian forces managed to destroy an M777 howitzer in the Shakhtyorsky district, and Russian warplanes destroyed several armored vehicles and enemy elements in the Novodonetsky district. Russian air defense systems there shot down an enemy Valkyrie drone.

In turn, Sergei Zebinsky, head of the press office of the Russian army’s “West” group, announced that Russian warplanes launched eight bomb and missile strikes against Ukrainian forces in the direction of Kupyansk.

The Russian officer told the Novosti agency that Russian Ka-52 and Mi-28 attack helicopters, and our Su-25 bombers, launched eight strikes with bombs and missiles against Ukrainian forces’ concentrations and weapons in the Kupyansk direction.
