Vienna (OTS) – On the day of the Euro emergency call on Sunday, February 11th, the Mobile Communication Forum reminds you of the Europe-wide emergency number 112. This number can be reached from any mobile phone network. In Austria, calls are forwarded directly to the nearest police control center.
If almost nothing works anymore: dial the Euro emergency number 112
Emergency calls via 112 can always be made safely, even if the home network is not available – the prerequisite is that at least some network is within range.
When you dial 112, the mobile phone automatically logs into the next available network.
Always dial the right emergency number
The basic rule is: always dial the right emergency number!
Anyone who calls emergency services on 144 as a first aider will be instructed by experienced paramedics on the phone to provide first aid while the rescue workers are still on the way to the scene.

All three-digit emergency calls are free of charge and can also be called with prepaid cards without credit
