BJP’s Smriti Irani is trailing in Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi Lok Sabha seat. He was confident of winning this seat. His rival Kishori Lal Sharma of Congress is leading by 1 lakh 25 thousand votes.
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury
Congress heavyweight Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in West Bengal is also facing a big defeat. Trinamool Congress candidate and cricketer Yusuf Pathan is ahead by 55,000 votes in Baharampur constituency.
Annamalai Kuppusamy
Tamil Nadu BJP chief Annamalai Kuppusamy is trailing in Coimbatore. Rival DMK candidate Ganapati Rajkumar is leading by 33 thousand votes. He was considered a likely winner in the election.
Omar Abdullah
Jammu and Kashmir-based National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah has accepted defeat in his seat in the Lok Sabha elections. He made the announcement even as the counting of votes continued on Tuesday (June 4). Omar Abdullah became a candidate for Baramulla Lok Sabha seat. He was trailing by 125,000 votes in the counting till the last news. Jailed MLA Sheikh Abdul Rashid is ahead in this seat.
Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni
Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni’s son was arrested in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. He is 33,000 votes behind Samajwadi Party’s Utkarsh Sharma in Uttar Pradesh’s Kheri constituency.
