TRABZON – While preparations continue for the fishing season that will start on September 1, the sight of bonito fish in the seas has increased hopes.

Bonito, which was available in limited quantities on the shelves last season, is increasing hopes that it will be abundant this season, and it was noted that horse mackerel is also in good condition in terms of size.

Making statements on the subject, Ahmet Mutlu, President of the Eastern Black Sea Fishermen’s Cooperatives Union, stated that the appearance of both bonito and horse mackerel was promising, and said, “As a sample, there is a bonito appearance that satisfies us almost everywhere. Horse mackerel is also good in terms of size, hopefully it will be a fruitful catch.”

Mutlu, who noted that the bonito had reached the size determined for the catch, said, “Right now the fish is 32-34 cm. It has reached the size our fisherman described. As a sample, there is a bonito image that satisfies us almost everywhere. The horse mackerel is good in terms of size, hopefully it will give a fruitful catch. We are not scientists, we respect scientists. The climate is very important, the weather conditions are very important. Right now, the environment is suitable for catching fish caviar. Since it is suitable, there are two or three types of bonito in the sea right now. There are small, medium and large sizes. The sample seen everywhere is good, hopefully it will give a catch, our fisherman will provide plenty of fish to the citizens, our thought and wish is in this direction.”
