First Passengers Arrived at Nevşehir Airport New Terminal

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that they have completed the first phase of the Nevşehir Cappadocia Airport New Terminal Building and Additional Facilities Project.

Minister Uraloğlu made a statement about the work carried out within the scope of Nevşehir Cappadocia Airport New Terminal Building and Additional Facilities Project. Minister Uraloğlu stated that the terminal building was built in two stages and said, “We have completed the first stage of our new terminal building. After the system tests we successfully completed, we put the domestic and international departure lounges that we built within the scope of the first stage into service today.”

‘OUR NEW TERMINAL BUILDING WELCOME ITS FIRST PASSENGERS’

Stating that the passenger operations carried out in the existing terminal building were transferred to the new terminal in a planned manner, Uraloğlu said, “After the flight from Istanbul yesterday, we completed the operations in the existing terminal and moved the incoming and outgoing passenger operations to the first stage of our new terminal.” Noting that the first passenger operation in the new terminal building was carried out this morning, Uraloğlu said, “Our new terminal building welcomed its first passengers with the flight between Istanbul and Nevşehir.”

‘CAPACITY IS INCREASING 3 TIMES’

Emphasizing that there will be a great increase in the capacity of the airport with the completion of the new terminal building, Minister Uraloğlu said, “We are continuing our work on the domestic and international arrivals halls and VIP lounges within the scope of the second stage works. We plan to complete all stages of the project this year. With the commissioning of the entire new terminal building, we will increase the annual passenger capacity of Nevşehir Cappadocia Airport from 700 thousand to 2 million, approximately 3 times. It is modern, comfortable and high, as befits a favorite destination of world tourism, such as Cappadocia.” “We will further carry the tourism potential of the region by putting into service a terminal building with a capacity of 100,000 people.”
