First official speedcubing tournament

On October 5, the San Joaquín Campus of the Catholic University will open its doors to welcome, for the first time, Rubik’s Cube lovers in “UC AL CUBO”, an official tournament that offers 70 free spots for people of all ages to challenge themselves to solve the classic puzzle in the shortest time possible.
Organized by the UC Faculty of Mathematics and FEUC, the event will be refereed by the World Cube Association (WCA). It will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with talks on mathematics and Rubik, test areas for the five available categories, spaces for practicing and contests.
Registration will begin on September 10, exclusively at ucalcubo.mat.uc.cl, where the competition rules and program can also be found.
