A senior police officer of Nushki district of Balochistan said that unknown armed men shot and killed 11 people including nine passengers in Nushki on Friday.
SSP Allah Bakhsh Baloch of Nushki district bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan said that more than a dozen unknown armed men stopped the vehicles and started checking after blocking the national highway of Quetta Nushki Taftan.
He said that the accused kept the national highway closed for more than two hours and during that time, after checking the identity cards of passengers in a bus, they kidnapped nine people from Punjab province and took them with them.
He further said that later, bullet-riddled bodies of the hostages were found in the nearby hills.
A Levies official in Nushki told Independent Urdu that nine bodies were found on the railway track a few hours after the abduction.
SSP Allah Bakhsh further said that the deceased belong to Bahauldin and Gujranwala districts and it is not yet known where the armed men came from and in which direction they went.
According to him, security forces immediately reached the spot after receiving information about the incident, but by that time the accused had fled.
He said that the dead bodies will be sent to Quetta and then to Punjab after necessary action.
The victims have been identified as Sajid Imran son of Muhammad Arif, Wasiq Farooq son of Muhammad Farooq Rana, Muzamil Hussain son of Muhammad Ali, Mazhar Iqbal son of Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Abu Bakr son of Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Qasim son of Muhammad Azam, Javed Shahzad son of Muhammad Arshad, Tanzeel son of Javed Nasir. , Rana was born as Shah Zeb son of Abdul Hameed.
