The rescue teams had a very busy Sunday due to six forest fires that were successfully controlled. Volunteer Firefighters reported having extinguished two incidents, Municipal Firefighters controlled three and the Guatemalan Red Cross ended one.
One of the fires originated in El Fiscal Palencia, where Volunteer Firefighters used various tools to control the flames in a dry grassland. The procedure that included various techniques was effective, the rescuers confirmed through their social networks.

Meanwhile, Volunteer Firefighters attended to another forest fire registered at the customs office in Tecún Umán, San Marcos. In this incident they used 10,000 gallons of water.
The Guatemalan Red Cross reported presence in Cerro El Baúl, Quetzaltenango, where different institutions are working to combat a forest fire.
Likewise, Municipal Firefighters worked at kilometer 19 of the Atlantic Highway to control a fire that originated in the back of a school.
The same rescuers were activated to put out another forest fire on the side of a ravine in the El Granizo neighborhood, La Isla, zone 7 of the capital.
Forest fires without injuries
Finally, Municipal Firefighters also controlled a fire at kilometer 19.9 on the route to El Salvador, in San Agustín Las Manzanillas, Villa Canales.
In all the forest fires attended to, no injured people were reported, the rescue forces confirmed.
